Committee’s Chairperson Lilia Hrynevych, representatives of Norwegian funds and companies proved their interest in implementing cooperation that pertains to elaboration of a new comprehensive law on innovation management and promotion, on business-incubators, as well as on technology parks and innovational entrepreneurship in Ukraine.
It was stressed that development of cooperation between Ukraine and Norway is extremely important, particularly, in view of the necessity to initiate innovational infrastructure in Ukraine.
Prior to signing the document, Committee Chairperson noted that “Ukraine lives through hard period now, however, Maidan has opened a window of opportunities that has to be used. The Verkhovna Rada has adopted in the first reading the Law “On Higher Education”. It would lack support of the majority even three months ago, and now this quite radical reform of higher education has become possible.
It is understandable that innovational legislation requires systemic amendments that would secure establishment of a field of activity for everyone. This Parliament would go down in history if it could elaborate, suggest and adopt such legislative basis.”
The ceremony of signing the document was held with participation of the
Foreign Affairs Minister of Norway Borge Brende, Ambassador Extraordinary and
Plenipotentiary of Norway to Ukraine Jon Elvedal Fredriksen, Chairman of the board at Seed Forum Norway Foundation Steinar Hoel
Korsmo, Chairman of the board at International Charity Seed Forum Ukraine Foundation Dmytro
Podoliev,
the people’s deputy Hryhorii Smitiukh, as well as representatives of Ukrainian
and Norwegian companies and funds.
